The Story
Emma retired to the small, quiet, friendly town of Brigton, Texas. She bought the bookstore and settled into a new life without all that corporate drama.
Brigton is so small and quiet, that the town council didn't replace the police chief and sole officer when he retired a while back. After all, nothing happens the sheriff can't handle, right?
Right. Until Last Friday...
The town gathered to see the Brigton Gemstone unveiled for the first time in many years. The Hall family kept it for their own private enjoyment. But, just as the covering was removed from the case...the lights went out.
And when they came back on, the sapphire was gone!
The sheriff asked Emma to help out, so she's investigating with her best friend Millie, and her Golden Retriever, Daisy Mae. Although, who's Sherlock and who's Watson remains to be seen.

The story is family friendly and written at a 6th grade reading level. In keeping with cozy mysteries, there is no swearing, drug use, or sexual content. Minor alcohol is consumed at the event, but not during the story. This would be a great family bonding experience, and you could pretend the letters are from a distant cousin!
